It seems a lot of us are all still reeling from November’s horrific results, relitigating the 2016 primary wars and the never-ending Rox/Sux pie fight, or hanging our hopes on unrealistic Electoral College machinations. I completely understand why, don’t get me wrong. This is a catastrophe from top to bottom.
At the same time, I feel that we could all benefit from a more productive approach to planning for the future. There definitely is some of that going on already— I’ve been very impressed by the work of Chris Reeves, for instance, but there are others as well, and what I’m writing shouldn’t be interpreted as diminishing them in anyway. I am after all, mostly a lurker (although, I have been one for over a decade now).
In any event, a group of former congressional staffers have published a very useful piece on ways to organize and oppose Trumps agenda effectively. Taking a few salient cues from the Tea Party movement, the piece provides a roadmap for how best to get our representatives to listen to us and take us seriously, and I would be very interested in hearing what you all think. It’s called:
Indivisible: A Practical Guide for Resisting the Trump Agenda
