This has Karl Rove's fingerprints all over it.
Ok, I'm 21, from a red state (Georgia) and I have just had it up to here with this bullshit about corporatists, socialists, betrayal, left, right, center, blue dog, yellow dog, red dog, whatever.
Many have seen the Tea Party movement as an entity that had only existed because of the election of Barack Obama. That it can be written off as simply racism. But it is more complex than that. To me, its a denial complex of what is really happening. I see it with this discussion over a Tea Party protest.
This is what I have gathered the past few days using my Lexis Nexis library plus the almighty googler.
I have just watched Rep. Kucinich on Countdown tonight stating that he will vote with Congressional Republicans on the 18th since the Public Option was not included. I have seen Rep. Stupak saying that he will vote with Congressional Republicans along with 12 others if his abortion clauses are not included in this bill. This puts us in a pickle, since if the Senate Bill is changed with these changes added, it has to go back to the Senate. The U.S. Senate, which now has 59 Democratic members and 41 Republicans, and would need to vote 60 for the debate process to be ended. The first round, this bill barely passed at all in the House. In the U.S. Senate, the talks with Sen. Snowe for support of a bill fell through, prompting Sen.Joe Lieberman to go against the Public Option, aided by Sens. Lincoln, Nelson, Landrieu, etc.
This is mostly a diary I wrote for days. So, it might be sporadic, but I just put everything I thought in.
I might cause some agreement or disagreement, but here are some of my beefs between the progressives and President Obama.
I'm not talking about Republican and Democratic. No, I'm talking about Obama supporters and Progressives who want a primary him in 2012?
I gotta vent tonight here. I am embarrassed over this. Since yesterday, I had been hearing rumors about Robert Gibbs being a racist suddenly from some reports. At first I didn't see the briefing, and wondered why in the hell would Press Secretary Gibbs do something that would construed as racist, knowing the Boss would call his butt into the office for a thorough yelling session. President Obama may be cool, but I don't think he would have taken this lightly. So, I went to C-Span and watched the press briefing to actually see what had transpired.
In 1992, we elected a southern Democrat to the White House to change the way Washington performed after the Reagan/Bush era. In those first two years, we saw Republicans and conservative Democrats take on the nominations of people destined to be in President Clinton's cabinet. We saw them weaken the President's plans for action in that period of economic recession. We saw them, for probably the first time in American history, demean the First Lady of the United States, then Hillary Rodham Clinton. We saw them gut any type of health care reform in this nation. With that, in 1994, Republicans took both houses of congress due to the energetic Republican base and the lackadaisical Democratic base. I believe this can be prevented in the present time and here is my statement about how we can stop this from happening in 2010.
I'm gonna be brief on this.
A short one, but to the point.
