I don't like that Markos was banned from MSNBC, it's hypocritical and one-sided. But as much as I want to be outraged, I'm more worried that it's a fight that will weaken us rather than strengthen us and that there's really no way Markos comes out of it looking very good.
The 'Dead Intern' quip to Joe Scarborough was probably over the top. While there's some similarity between the sitations for Joe and Gary Condit, there are some fairly serious differences too. Condit was having an affair with the intern, and as far as I could find out that was not the case for Scarborough. If we're looking for the reason the two were covered differently, that's where we need to look before we go to conspiracy theories.
The snotty response from Scarborough was unwise, I think I would have waved at that one and moved on - but isn't that also the wise move from Markos at this point? I'm not sure what is left to be gained from further hyping this battle with one of the few progressive-friendly stations over something where there isn't a clear cut bad guy. Our energy is way better spent elsewhere, especially in an election year.
