Could there be a simpler fix for marriage equality in this country with out the court system. Having to deal with propositions and right wingers trying to pass constitutional amendments against gay marriage?
I think there is. It's so simple most people look right over it like it's not even there. The solution is to get government out of the business of marriage entirely. Sure it might be alot of work to unentagle it from the rest of law but I believe if Microsoft managed to unentangle Internet Explorer from it's heavily integrated Windows software then i think the government can do so same.
We would practically be abolishing the family court system. We would free up judges who would be wasting time marrying and divorsing people and enforcing alimony payments to actually handle real cases worth the courts time.
People would benefit in that they wouldn't have to go to court just to break up.
What would be left of marriage you might wonder? It would still be a human tradition practiced in the religous places of the cults the people follow. Exactly where it should have been.
