This may not be a “real” diary according to some, but I wanted to give a shout out to an interview with Hillary Clinton from a few years ago. The interviewer is the Canadian Broadcasting Company’s Peter Mansbridge. I was struck by how calm, considered, and measured Clinton was, in contrast not only to Trump but to her own reputation as an “unnatural politician” or speaker. We see quite a lot of her on the stump on many newscasts, but maybe too little of the other side. From my viewpoint it seems more authentic, intelligent, and relatable.
I post it only because it’s refreshing to hear real, substantive dialogue in a sea of media-massaged and processed campaign coverage, and there are those who may not have the benefit of a different kind and tone of discussion. Hopefully it will give more dimension to the impression some may have of her. But at any rate, what a refreshing change from Trump’s brand of intellectual yuugeness.
BTW, there’s an interesting story in the interview about her experience with Putin and Russia, and her feelings about how it affects the West.
