Racist Peckerhead (updated)

by conniptionfit

There was this peckerhead driving around my suburban community last week in a beat up old truck, flying these 2 enormous flags.  One was an American flag, and the other was a Gadsden flag.  And I thought to myself, gee, there goes another peckerhead, Tea Party dude who loves America, but hates Americans.  Sigh.

Yesterday afternoon the peckerhead upgraded.  Now he's flying 2 ginormous Confederate Battle flags.  What the HELL do I do with that?!  To drive away and do or say nothing, as if I didn't see, or care, feels... wrong.  But one true thing that I've learned in my life is that you can't call an asshole an asshole, and expect him to not be an asshole anymore.  I'm betting the same goes for racist peckerheads.

Only Problem?  Clinton HASN'T SPOKEN YET!  And won't until after 10pm ET tonight. Time travel media, gotta love it!  After all, why wait to report on the storyuntil after happens?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Bill Clinton took center stage Wednesday at the Democratic National Convention in hopes of persuading middle-class voters that Barack Obama could turn a troubled economy around the same way the former president did two decades ago.

There's a big "new" story out there in the Liberal Media.  Apparently we liberals should be outraged that the Republicans are so hypocritical that they won't even vote for their own ideas!
Really? This is the argument we want to make?  That Republicans are acting like Republicans?  I'd argue that the bigger story is Democrats trying to pass Republican Agenda items, and expecting Republicans to help them with that.

Apparently swing-voters have such short attention spans that they really do make their voting decisions by seeing paid political advertising on tee-vee and on billboards.  Citizens United has opened the door for corporations to spend whatever they want on lots and lots of expensive right-wing and anti-democratic advertising in the upcoming elections.

But we can fight them on the streets!  Bumper stickers are the perfect vehicle for our vehicles-  er, I mean, the perfect vehicle for capturing the short attention spans of our swing-voter brethren.

Post Turtle Palin

by conniptionfit

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a
conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around ton Sarah Palin and her bid to be a heartbeat away from being President.

"Drill Here, Drill Now" is a know-nothing, knee-jerk slogan thought up by know-nothing, knee-jerk Newt Gingrich, Republican scam artist of "Contract For America" fame.  And we all know how well that worked out, don't we? "Drill Here, Drill Now" depends on the ignorance of busy Americans of the basic facts and math of the Oil Business.  The REAL issue is not our dependence on "Foreign Oil" as the powers-that-be have been telling us for the last 32 years.  The real problem is our economy's dependence on a finite, dwindling (not to mention filthy) energy source. Period.  Allowing ourselves to be distracted and side tracked by petroleum dollar greased politicians and Oil lobbyists into endless arguments about ways to bring back the good ol' days of cheap oil is like watching a starving man argue with himself over whether  a steak dinner or a lobster dinner would be better.... if he had access to a steak or a lobster.

Senator Hillary Clinton said today:

"I think that since we now know that Sen. John McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, National Security will be front and center in this election. We all know that. And I think it's imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the Commander in Chief threshold. I believe that I've done that. Certainly Sen McCain has done that, and you'll have to ask Sen. Obama with respect to his candidacy."

She called McCain "a good friend and a distinguished man with a great history of service to our country. Both of us will be on that stage having crossed that threshold. That is a critical criterion for the next Democratic Nominee to deal with."

In 6 sentences Clinton ceded the choice of primary issue in the war to win the White House and the framing of it to the ENEMY.
