I enjoy reading trade magazines and being bored, I actually spent about 40 minutes reading the FAQs at this site last night and I was fascinated. Yes I'm the guy who reads those boring magazines and enjoys them but hasn't read a mystery or adventure novel in years. So I've learned new words like troll and sockpocketry. But I am confused and fascinated at the same time.

Like Sarah Palin "I" receive secret top classified communications from God and God shares with me his unique perspective on issues of the day and what is right and wrong. Sarah Palin claims that God is speaking to her about whether or not she should run in 2012 but God also spoke to me too and God told me a few things that I need to share with Governor Palin.

I never liked Joe Lieberman. I see through people. The man is immoral. The man lies with discomforting ease. The man does not care about anything but himself. The man has a bloated ego. The man is corrupt. I would never trust him to deposit a simple envelope in a mailbox or anything else. Democrats should dump him.

Joe Lieberman is thinking of caucusing with the Democrats. If Reid does permit him to do this it would be a mistake. It would reaffirm my old 1990s image of Democrats. But if Joe Lieberman is going to caucus with the Democrats there should be some rules for him because he reminds me of an out of control 3 year old. So I made up some rules. I'm no comedian although my wife likes my jokes.

I am your swing voter the man who voted for a Democrat for President for the first time in my life after having voted Republican in the past. (I abstained in 2004) Up front I am somewhat leery about writing hear because of what I've heard in the media about this site from newspapers, talk radio, and television. But I have an open mind. From my short time here most people seem really nice and informed and most of what I read here seems mainstream to me.

But I am also married to an African American woman (I'm a white male) and I read some posts here over the weekend that was disgraceful. The scapegoating of blacks over the failure to stop the gay marriage ban was disgusting and attempts to blame Mormons and Catholics as well are equally reprehensible.

Senator McCain what did you know and when did you know it?

Senator McCain the choice of who should be your running mate is your choice and your responsibility. You had every right to choose whomever you want. I'm sure you now regret allowing Rush Limbaugh, James Dobson, Billy Kristol, and other wingnuts make your selection for you when you wanted to choose someone else but as you said in your excellent speech Tuesday night the failure is all yours.

You also had every right to choose any person you chose qualified to be President. Those qualifications are minimal and outlined in the Constitution. You had every right to choose Joe the Senator, Joe the Plumber, Fran the Fry Girl at McDonalds, or Sarah The Diva from Wasilla.

But somewhere along the line Senator you learned that Sarah Palin being potentially one heartbeat away from the Presidency would have put at risk everything you love about this country and everything it stands for.

So the question to you Senator is this, What did you know and when did you know it?

I may not be the brightest bulb in the closet but I do follow politics and occasionally have a good point or two.

Prior to Barack Obama's convention in Denver, Obama was basically tied with John McCain. In some polls Obama trailed. I also know that both parties historically receive about 5-10 point bounces from their political conventions. Therefore Obama would leave Denver with about a 6 point lead and McCain would leave Minneapolis either back in a tie or with a slim lead. This was the way it was going to be regardless of whether McCain picked Romney, Palin, Huckabee, Pawlenty, Lieberman, or Joe the Plumber.

So how did John McCain go from a dead heat to a landslide loser in just 2 months? How did a man with his impressive war hero biography, a man seen as moderate by large numbers of Americans, a man who would have defeated Al Gore handily in 2000, lose in a landslide to a first term Senator from Illinois? The answer is Sarah Palin.

Which direction will the country go tonight at the polls? The LEFTwich direction.

Steelers backup quarterback Byron Leftwich came off the bench to throw two touchdowns to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 23-6 victory over the Washington Redskins. Ironically enough, Steelers starting quarterback Ben Rothlinsberger, a far right kook, was injured during the game and had to leave.

The margin of the game was 17 points. 17 is a significant number when it comes to games played at home by the Redskins prior to an election.

She didn't know who the Prime Minister of Canada was, thought "Nailin Pailin" was a biography of her, didn't pick up on "I can see Belgium from my house," and couldn't pick up on about 10 other hints that she was being mocked.

Who knows more about foreign policy, Joe The Plumber or Colin Powell?
John McCain and Sarah Palin are seeking advice for foreign policy by an unlicensed guy with a name I can't spell. He actually isn't a plumber. Barack Obama has the endorsement of George Bush's former secretary of state.

Colin Powell is a four star general. He knows how to keep people safe. His endorsement helps sway moderates over to Obama. It debunks any concerns people might have about Obama on national security.

Welcome to Palinsville. I am your new socialist mayor.

I need a new car. So I'm going to have the people of my town fork over $25,000 for my hot rod SUV.

My office needs redecorating. Fork over another $50,000.

I want a new home. So let's have a company bid $15 million dollars for a $10 million dollar project, pocket the extra $5 million and then spend about $250,000 on labor cost to help me build my home. I'll say my spouse built it if Uncle same starts calling.

That's $300,000 in socialism and my calculator is not finished.

I grew up in an Ohio suburb. My parents are educated working folks as am I and my wife and kids. We were brought up Republicans. I voted Republican. I voted for Bob Dole, I voted for George W Bush in 2000. I voted for George Voinovich and Mike Dewine.

I was brought up to believe in the following -- that I was for a strong national defense, less government, lower taxes, family values, and personal freedom. You've heard those phrases from Republican politicians every single election cycle.

Well I still generally believe in those five values. However, the Republican Party long ago abandoned any claim to any of these five values. That is why I am no longer a republican.
