I'm struggling with how to reconcile responses to the recent tragedies which have occurred in the US.
This week we as Americans have had two significant incidents happen - the bombing in Boston and, as of last night, the explosion of a fertilizer plant in West, Texas.
Spent a few minutes reading the story from Mother Jones covering the leaked Romney fundraiser video and there is one quote in particular that jumped out to me as particularly disturbing.
Romney told the contributors that "women are open to supporting me," but that "we are having a much harder time with Hispanic voters, and if the Hispanic voting bloc becomes as committed to the Democrats as the African American voting block has in the past, why, we're in trouble as a party and, I think, as a nation."
Why exactly would this country be in trouble if Hispanics became as committed to Democrats as African Americans? I mean, for sure the Republican Party would be in trouble.... but the country?
Someone might want to ask Mitt what exactly scares him about minorities having a clear say in the direction of this country....
