Harry Reid disgusts me. The fifteen plus Democrats that he claimed will not vote for "Assault Weapon Ban or Magazine Size Limits" disgust me.

Diane Einstein who pushed hard and which passed in her Senate committee 4 bills including the aforementioned two, despair me for their acquiesce in accepting Harry's moral turpitude in reneging on the promise to at least bring the bills for vote so Senators Republican and the Red State Con Democrats could put their "Nay" seal on the bills , in plain sight of the American public who in clear majority support these bills. These morally bankrupt bastards are as cowardly as a murderer who will go to any length to hide and lie when facing the punishment for their deeds. They will like to hide in anonymity of their dear Senate colleagues who purportedly would have voted for the bills if they came to the floor. In my mind these 35 or so (If the perpetual liar Reid is to be believed) spineless Democrats are guilty of harboring the 15 murderers by letting them hide in the faceless Democratic Caucus.

Shame on you Diane Feinstein, double shame on you the so called Progressive Democrats for not having the courage to threaten the Reid and the sold out Corporatist Leadership and force them to bring the bills to the floor. I implore you to expose the corruption in your ranks and engage in civil disobedience to gum up the works of this fucked up anti people Congress until this charade is stopped.

I have been accused by the status quo toadies of being a single issue guy who is willing to throw the Democratic or Obama baby along with the bathwater, whenever I have called out this cowardice where the so called Democrats along a with Corporatist Administration of making noise and performing the Kabuki theater "We are for the Average Guy" for the longest time only to stab the American Public when they reach the short strokes.

Unfortunately the accumulation of these so called single issues over the last few years have brought us to a stage where the babies are all gone and we are left with the bathwater used to drown the babies.

Mr President, you put me on the Horns of a Dilemma about my 2012 activity. Thank god that Bernie Sanders valiantly keeps the flame going despite the buckets of water poured by you, your Wall Street and other Conservadems. And thank god for Ralph Nader - sharp intellect, clear thinking and a steady unshakable commitment to the "other 98%". Thanks Ralph for spearheading the project  Nader looks for Obama 2012 challengers.

Between these two people they have taken me down from the horns of my Obama dilemma. My plan is to support the candidate picked up by the Nader project. If Ralph fails to bring forth a worthy Populist Progressive I will write in the name of Berni Sanders. My hope is that this would bring you back to the agenda of candidate Obama, an agenda that I work hard to propagate. If the change described in the next paragraph happens before the General this Nader's Raider will be happy to once again put his shoe leather behind your candidacy.

BERNIE SANDERS the top true Progressive on the Hill, is challenging the American People to revolt against the 8011 Budget Deal which he calls OBSCENE.

Response to the clarion call from Mr Sanders to mount a camapign at a scale that matters will separate the Real Progressive Organizations from the Fake Ones serving as moles of Corporatist Dems on the Hill and the House to sabotage the Progressive agenda. Those who call themself Progressives (aka liberals) who do not subscribe to Bernie's principles should replace the word "Progressive" to "PINO." in their profiles.

Wimpy wussy insecure Progressives only enable Republican Tea Party to plunder while faux Dems drown out the public's voices.

Only way to achieve any progress on a people's agenda -- is to instill real fear of people power in the Corporatist Centrist Conservative Moderate Democrats. This will only happen if we boycott the campaigns of the aforementioned DINOs and focus our energy on electing true Progressives not only at the lower cadres of Govt. but all the way to the top from local office holders to the President. Alternate candidates must be sought, drafted and fully supported.

Progressives should boycott the campaigns of all Corporatist DINOs and focus our energy on electing true Progressives at all level, from elected local officials to the President, must be primaried.

I wrote these comments/questions as a contribution to the material for use by Sen. Sanders' in his Talkathon on the Senate Floor. President and other pushers of the bad Tax Bill have avoided these questions so far. I am sure the questions must have occurred to these brilliant minds, but in an act of intellectual dishonesty they have chosen to divert the attention of the public from the big flaws in the bill by disingenuously exaggerating the benefits and mongering fear in Congress so that Dem Caucus folds and signs on the dotted line.

If the three questions/comments are not addressed by modifying the bill. What should the Progressive caucus and activists do?

Dems on the hill do not care what problem it is; they will solve it. I very much doubt that these folks will qualify for McKinsey jobs. Without any ideology and fierce urgency of now -- best they will come is empty suits, a McKinsey Consultant sans brains or heart. A vacuous party.

A congressman advertises the fact that he did not side with the President or the Speaker most of the time. In fact he voted 80% of the time with John Boehner and Republicans.

Getting out the Progressive Vote

by doubleaseven

This diary contains two letters - first one pointing to the difficulty in getting out the Progressive votes and a couple of steps that might be helpful.

Second letter is written in response to the President's remarks at a fundraiser and which are directly relevant to the points raised in the first letter.

How difficult will it be to enthuse the progressives, so they volunteer to organize and come to vote in numbers?

Has Alan Grayson DESERTED HR 4789-MEDICARE FOR ALL? Why has he remained silent on this issue--in spite of zillions of calls to his D.C. OFFICE? It appears that he took the campaign donations and deserted the supporters of MEDICARE FOR ALL.

Should Alan Grayson be held accountable for his bill HR 4789 "Voluntary Medicare Buy In"?

President Obama joked in the recent Whitehouse Correspondent Dinner:
"Unfortunately John McCain couldn't make it. Recently he claimed that he had never identified himself as a Maverick. And we all know what happens in Arizona when you don't have Id. Adios, Amigos." [Applause]

President with his poignant joke sparked a great idea in my head. The idea of a course which can teach the meaning of AB1070 to our esteemed Senators (the non-Maverick being one of them).

The course is described in the Diary body that follows.

Should Republican Senators be made to experience the ordeal a Mexican citizen might be put through?.

As they say crime should fit the punishment. Likewise celebration should fit the achievement. If you want to call passage of the HCR bill a victory, it is a Pyrrhic one. That is why I find it embarrassing to pat our own backs so vigorously as expressed in the recent congratulatory letters from of MoveOn HCAN, OFA and a few other Progressive groups.

How should we carry on the march to fill the two gaping holes identified in the diary?

The "drubbing" Kucinich took took its toll - and the last Progressive standing went down without much of a fight with a Corporatist Whitehouse (forget about the charade of anger with the Ins Co) and their tools in the Congress. The progressives who over the last few days went back on their pledge of not voting for a bill that did not include a Public Insurance Option were especially vicious in questioning of Dennis' loyalty to the Party and to the country. One of them had related his discomfort with the mafia style tactics; he said he felt as if a gun to his head. Now having sold out he must have wielded the same gun at Dennis' head.

If the Progressive Hill dwellers can not answer Glenn Greenwald on "The 'Public Option': Democrats' Scam Becomes More Transparent" [], they should not hope that they will be able to dodge such accusations come November.

When all is said and done Dennis has joined the 121 of his brethren in the Group of 122 champions of the PO who melted like a stick of butter when confronted by Hot knife Obama. They completely forgot the public good they were espousing. And regrettably I have to add Dennis to the list of people from whom I am demanding a refund of donations raised in the name of PO.

Why do the Dems skirt the 2 questions: 1. The real reason behind dropping the Public Option? 2. Why the delay till 2014, while 200,000 more will die waiting?

"In the end, trust begets competition, competition begets a public

President Obama made a backroom deal with the for-profit hospital industry that the final health care bill would not include a national public option.
