Dear President Obama,
Do not overreact to the election in MA. We can not let a state that already has reformed their health care system dictate to the other 49 states about health care reform. Now is the time for resolute leadership, not to scale back. Advocate for the house to pass the senate bill that has already been passed by that chamber.
This was never about a one shot fix it all. We always knew this would be a process where we would continually make the system better. So pass the senate bill and we can fix the problems with it down the road.
The idea that we can pass a scaled down version that everyone agrees upon is insane. The Republicans are not intrested in giving you a major acomplishment to campaign on, and that will always be the case. Moderate Republicans will flirt with the idea of voting for a bill, because it's in their intrest to seem like they might comprimise, but their optimal outcome is to appear to negotiate but in the end be unable to vote for the bill. No matter how you change the bill that will be the case.
We are at the finish line, and if we fall back now I do not see how I can continue to support the Democratic party.
Sincerely
Jason Kuykendoll
