I've been mulling this over and when I saw how the DNC responded to kos's comments about the straw poll, I thought I would toss this out and see what people think.
With the debates not really showing anything, why not have the dailykos crew submit a short list of questions to the candidates? I'd include the kos alumni, 'cause I'd love to see Steve Gilliard and Wes Clark discuss Iraq.
Perhaps set it up as Q&A with a follow up Q&A.
I think it would be a win/win. People who really know the news would ask intelligent questions of people who don't always get asked intelligent questions. Each candidate could be asked from a custom-tailored list put forth by readers and writers. It would also be very interesting to see what news sources would qoute the replies, and a good test of the influence of the blogs.
Any thoughts?
