The perception of a thing and the thing itself can be different.
If you're having a bad day, thinking about it as being "ok" can make it so. Mind over matter; whistle while you work...
WWE is spectacle, but it fills a purpose. It's a sham but everyone's in on it. Like when we whistle while we work.
Folks who have had it bad in the economy needed a lift-me-up. Many in our society are tuned to avoid appearing to need help, or a hand-out. That's why they historically reject the liberal establishment's attempts to modulate economic issues with free trade.
But having rejected that help, they still need it. So they took the chance to make themselves feel good and get the help at the same time. They're going to "make America great again." They're gonna build stuff, and stand up and tell people they're not taking it, whatever it is, anymore. I'm largely OK with that. We will argue about the specific policy differences. That's what politics is about. We need a *functional* Congress for that because the details matter. But the *impetus* to make it happen is all we've really been missing for a long time. And clearly everyone wants to make America great. So that's good.
Some folks who really need a win, feel like they are gonna get one. It's definitely crazy and over the top. And largely bluster and fanfare. But sometimes that's what you need. And yes, that noise has brought all manner of nut-jobs to come in closer and want a piece of the action (i'm looking at the KKK here).
But just keep whistling. And keep an eye on that dude standing on the turnbuckle.
