First there was Senator Coons talking to Andrea Mitchell on Friday:
There are transcripts that provide very helpful—very critical—insights into whether or not Russian Intelligence and senior Russian political leaders, including Vladimir Putin, were cooperating—were colluding—with the Trump campaign

Coons said that he understood that such transcripts existed. Andrea Mitchell found his comments quite interesting. Me too.
Then there was the Clapper interview yesterday on Meet The Press:
CHUCK TODD:
Well, that's an important revelation at this point. Let me ask you this. Does intelligence exist that can definitively answer the following question, whether there were improper contacts between the Trump campaign and Russian officials?
JAMES CLAPPER:
We did not include any evidence in our report, and I say, "our," that's N.S.A., F.B.I. and C.I.A., with my office, the Director of National Intelligence, that had anything, that had any reflection of collusion between members of the Trump campaign and the Russians. There was no evidence of that included in our report.

CHUCK TODD:
If it existed, it would have been in this report?
JAMES CLAPPER:
This could have unfolded or become available in the time since I left the government.

Clapper suggests it’s possible that somebody has found evidence of collusion since he left the government. Nice of him to mention that but he didn’t have to, did he?
Then there was yesterday’s tweet from Louise Mensch:
I think that one speaks for itself, no?
Then there was yesterday’s NY Times story about Comey asking the DOJ to set Trump straight on wiretapping:
In addition to being concerned about potential attacks on the bureau’s credibility, senior F.B.I. officials are said to be worried that the notion of a court-approved wiretap will raise the public’s expectations that the federal authorities have significant evidence implicating the Trump campaign in colluding with Russia’s efforts to disrupt the presidential election.
www.nytimes.com/...
They are worried about the public thinking they might have significant evidence about collusion? If they are so worried about it, they why are they bringing it up?
For some reason, this makes me think of a self-referential sentence from Metamagical Themas by Douglas Hofstadter:
Does this sentence remind you of Agatha Christie?
Why yes, it does!
Trump’s tweets keep reminding me of Russia. And people who are talking about Trump keep reminding me of collusion. I wonder why?
