Visited (at their request) a nursing home in a heavily-Republican first-ring suburb in Dallas County today and filled out mail ballot requests and new voter registrations for 15 of the residents--only 2 of them were Republicans. The rest were interested in getting rid of Bush (and the two who wanted to vote for Bush I talked into supporting the D candidate for County Sheriff.)
Also registered 7 healthcare workers at this location, only 2 of whom had ever been registered before, and all of whom said they were voting for Kerry (and the entire D slate). I'm beginning to think that we should even visit high-end nursing homes, if only to register their employees, who understand the "two Americas" concept completely.
Granted, it doesn't mean we'll carry Texas, but it does show that the "red suburbs" aren't necessarily all that red.
