Like you, I am pissed. Like you, I am feeling burnt out. Like you, I am wondering just who the hell has the left in this country's back . . . and now, the Roberts Court has been emboldened to kill the federal subsidy part of the ACA . . . Just how mad are you?

I Will Help Mrs. Bartcop, and you?

by prodigalson

There are already great diaries on the passing of Terry Coppage, the author of bartcop.com. If you remember the days of Media Whores Online, SmirkingChimp, and buzzflash, and listening to Mike Malloy on IEAmerica radio, then you can remember what a light in the darkness it was discovering Ol' Bart, along with those few voices in the wilderness. I paypaled some money to his wife Debbie per Terry's request, as have many of the amazing kossacks here . . . I'm thinking . . . it ain't good enough. . . .

Repub Retort

by prodigalson

Just thinking of some good one liners to use against filthy republicans, who are always trying to out-patriotism, out-old timey religion, out-success everyone they talk with.

Start with this (I am in the south, so . . .):

If you are asked, "Why are you against the 10 commandments being shown in public bldgs?" you say, " Posting them wouldn't be so bad if only the Republicans would follow them."

Flippy, flippity, do . . .

Yes, ALL bloggers should beg forgiveness of Jill because of the way they vilified her for her video taped denunciations of America and Shrub.

ALL bloggers just jump to conclusions and act like big meanies.

I printed out some blog posts (could not find them on the internets) and ALL bloggers called Jill a liar, and "Princess Jill".

. . . so says  Ellen Goodman (FLIP)

Dee Dee Meyers IS the Problem

by prodigalson

I just watched ANOTHER tepid head to head on the Today show this AM.

It was Dee Dee Meyers, and Pat Buchanan.

Buchanan was on his talking points, blindly Pro-Bush, etc.

Dee Dee was . . . what, there for the exposure?

WTF!

More on the flip.

Cheney was Drunk!?

by prodigalson

OK, enough with the parsing of the softball FAUX news "interview"

Stuff I wanna know . . .

Did Cheney wait 24 hours before talking with police because he had been REALLY drinking?

Texas has an open container law, where you cannot have an open container of alcohol in your vehicle. Were they drinking and driving?

UPDATE: Reading the posts, I have tried to look up the open container as it applies to private property. I called the DPS in Texas (512) 424-2080, and the lady I spoke with stated that she does not know how the law applies on private peoperty. I will keep asking around. How does his drinking interact with his medication?

How can we get the traditional media to ask these questions?

Traitors Caucus

by prodigalson

You are either with the constitution of the United States or you are against it.

It appears that the democrats would prefer that we grassroots just sit down and shut up and let the 'adults' handle this hard senate confirmation stuff (pat, pat on the head)

Damn them. . .

Sound off the Democrats who voted 'aye' on cloture.

Democratic Strategery

by prodigalson

Will Pitt had a great idea, democrats should walk out of the SOTU.

I propose going one step further. . .

DON'T GO! Have a big rally outside the capitol. A press conference that makes Chimpy's speech have to go split-screen.

Following Topics for Press Conf.
-National security is too important to be left in the hands  of republicans. (Plamegate, Rove still has security clearance)- Russ Feingold

-Demos will filibuster Sloppy Seconds Sammy Scalito. The bill of Rights is too important to be left in the hands of republicans. (Illegal wiretapping)
- Chuck Schumer

-Demos will hold hearings on OIL gouging, 'cause our economy  should not be left in the hands of republicans. (Easy one, everyone is feeling the price, and we are at war riiiggght? War profiteering bad!)
- Harry Reid

Pink TUTU democrats, the SOTU will be just more horsesheet. Show some spine! Get organized!

Standing up for what is right is not rocket science!

Your thoughts?

USA Toady Lies

by prodigalson

In yesterdays USA Today, in the upper left hand, the paper stated, " . . . Reid received $30,500 in campaign donations from Abramoff and his clients."

Dunno about ya'll but I am sick of the traditional media bending over BACKWARDS, and in this case actually lying about Senator Reid, to paint this corruption scandal as bipartisan.

Join me in contacting the reader editor Brent Jones and asking for a retraction. Sen. Reid took ZERO dollars from sleazy Jack.

No. Seriously. FU chickenshit Joe Biden (D-MBNA)

I watched you first, limply ask a few softball questions of Sloppy Seconds Sammy, then afterwards kid around and be nice to a guy that just lied to you UNDER OATH.

Understand? A SUPREME COURT NOMINEE who:

Can't tell us the truth about why he joined Concerned Alumni of Princeton.

Can't tell us the truth about why he didn't recuse himself in cases where he had a conflict.

And you wanna be President. No F'in way asshole.

Markos,

We need an action diary on the front page. Dailykos is by far the most visited site, so how do we leverage this for positive change?

I propose we set up a "Board" of bloggers (Avarosis, Atrios, Firedoglake, MyDD - just suggestions) with a chairman who emails out a suggested action. Could be 1X a week could be 1X a month. The others approve or give thumbs down.

Followed up by an email to those who want to be emailed and/or text and IM messaged.

When millions reach out to traditional media fops and their elected federal AND state officials and demand change, maybe we can make a difference.

Remember the virtual march on washington?

Whadda ya say?

Yes, Bush says he takes responsibility for bad intelligence. And it's up to him to fix it.

I read it on the WSJ front page . . .

I saws it ons my teevee last night. . .

It says it in my local paper. . .

It's just more Bushit. I am peeved and I have a proposal for my brother and sister kossacks.
