Yeah, sometimes you just gotta take a stand, no matter the consequences ... human conscience, the honor of humanity, demands it. Now, I could write a 100 page dissertation on why this basic human right of freedom for all people of all sexual persuasions is imperative, and why DADT must be ended today, THIS DAY, and why we must put aside "business as usual" political rhetoric, and take a stand, and I would, except I think Hubert Humphrey said all that needs be said on the subject in this speech, and as such, I imagine, President Obama, of all people, should well heed these words, for their poignancy, for their relevance to his own very rights enjoyed today, for their applicability, and most especially, coming from such an esteemed fellow statesman, and as such, they cannot, must not, be ignored.
