It appears that the next offensive strike in Bu$hCo's War on Everything™ will be to take out the media (as opposed to just keeping them sedated). Last week, Alaska's Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Exxon) fired the first salvo when he filed a complaint against CNN because they interviewed him. Yesterday, ABC revealed that the FBI is rifling through their phone records (as well as the NYT's and WaPo's) in an attempt to plug leaks at the CIA. Today, we find that Snowjob, the new White House press flack, is making false attacks on the media to "set the record straight."
On the FBI snooping, the wingers simply can't figure out whether or not outrage is called for, although one points out that Watergate would not have come to light if Nixon had Bu$hCo's Patriot Act tools.
So what's next? A fatwa against Helen Thomas?
UPDATE: FBI flip - yesterday admits collecting phone records, today denies it.
