On Larry King tonight, HRC had several chances to say she was going to the convention and very pointedly did not do so. Larry King asked if she felt like less than a 5 point win would be a defeat and after saying a win is a win and all that stuff she said something to the tune of "We'll see where we are in June and go from there."
Larry then asked if she was, then, in it to the end all the way right up to the convention, and she hemmed and hawed and said "We'll see what the super delegates do, where we are in June, and whether the delegates from Florida and Michigan will be seated."
Is it just me or is this a noticeable dialing down of her rhetoric about going to the convention and fighting for delegates to be seated and all that? I thought it was very significant she mentioned June twice, and talked about the Michigan and Florida delegations as an open question rather than a subject for a battle. And said something about seeing where the super delegates where going to go in the same sentence as she mentioned June. Could this be a reflection of all the rumors (and open statements) about Dean/Pelosi/Van Hollen/Reid, etc putting out an ultimatum around June for Superdelegates to decide? Has she heard them and is narrowing the battle to June?
