Hi everybody! My name is Abby Abbie the Tabby! Or at least that is what these new humans I adopted are calling me. Of course I know my real name, but every time I try to tell them they just don’t seem to understand. You see, these new humans haven’t learned to speak any Pootie yet, so rather than get frustrated, I figure it’s easier to just go with the flow. And I’m all about going with the flow…so Abbie it is!
So how did I end up here wanting to meet all of you, and why do I think my new humans need some advice from your Pootie lovers out there (and yes, capitalization of Pootie is proper, after all, I am one and should know…)? Well its an interesting story, so follow me below. I’m still getting used to this typing thing, but I tamed these humans, I can tame this keyboard too!
You see, the human whose account I’m on right now has a friend who called him today to let him know that I showed up out of the woods behind their house two days ago, so he came over to see me. I totally liked him right away (and I’m a pretty discerning Pootie) and decided I was going to adopt him, but he didn’t know it yet so I played it cool…
They were nice enough to put a little food out for me on the back patio which was so awesome, because man oh man was I hungry!!! Now, I do like to watch my figure of course, but I think I may have taken it a bit far and I do know they kept saying how skinny and bony I was, so I was feeling a bit self-conscious about it and thought I better have a meal. You know, I’m not really good with the concept of time and all that (that’s soooo human anyway) so I really can’t tell you how long I was out there in the woods, but it was pretty sweet to come across these humans who liked me and wanted to help me. But hey, I’m a charmer, so what’s not to like?
I think they were very surprised at how friendly I was, what with rubbing on their legs and jumping into their laps to purr and curl up after a tasty lunch. I’m just chill like that, but they seemed shocked. I know, weird right? They obviously don’t know Pooties too well!
So the human I chose (still hadn’t told him about it yet of course) called another friend who has a woozle (lower caps, thankyouverymuch) rescue to bring something they called a chip scanner which I was kind enough to let them run over me. Hey it was the least I could do because they fed me and let me have a lap right? I’m all about reciprocation! They said I didn’t have one (whatever that means) but that it seemed like I had a “phantom ring” around my neck where my fur was spread that looked like I may have had a collar at one time. I don’t remember for sure so I wasn’t much help on that score, but they didn’t think I was feral (whatever that is!) because I was so friendly and I wanted to go into the house! I opted instead to crawl into the lap of my new human and give some SERIOUS eyes and purrs. Trust me, I worked it hard! Yeah, I’m that good…
Well, my plan worked because the human I adopted decided I had to come home with him (score!!!!) as if there had ever been any doubt. Yeah, like I said I’m good! But there was a catch….they have three woozles!!!!! Ugh!!! Well, I walked right in there and showed them I was the new queen KING of the house, and it worked! Sure, I let them sniff me for a bit (woozles are weird like that, right?) and was totally patient and then I figured I’d strut about and show them I was totally in control by walking right past them like they weren’t even there! So I showed them! I admit I was impressed by my new digs: I had a really cool litterbox, and some toys, and even a new scratching post! How cool is that??? They even said I was going to see some cool lady they called a veterinarian (did I type that right??) on Monday to check me out. I like getting checked out by humans so hopefully it will be a good time!
But the truth is that my new humans have never had a Pootie before and really are clueless! Of course I’ll do my best to teach them on the fly, but can you other Pootie lovers help them out with a bit of advice on what they should and shouldn’t do? I think they would be grateful and it will make my job easier! Hope to chat again soon! Right now its time for a nap...
Lots of Purrs,
Abbie The Tabby
EDIT: Looks like they just figured out I was a boy...these humans….sigh. So maybe Abbie instead of Abby?
