`What are conservatives conserving?' You all know the answer to that, and of course we should keep on asking. More on that later.
We, on the other hand, are the progressives. To me that means that we believe in progress, and we haven't been talking much about that. That means we have vision, vision of how to progress towards a better world, and we haven't talked about that either.
We forgot that the "Change We Can Believe In" is a dynamic, living concept - not some ideas written in stone during a campaign that happened mostly before the economic meltdown.
In one year in power,in which we forgot our identity, we moved from 40% to less than 20% advantage over the Repubs despite saving the economy from depression, and making progress in every major area. We also lost enthusiasm, and our willingness to keep on giving the way we did in 2008.
That means the potential loss of filibuster power in the senate, and maybe even the loss of congress, instead of gaining total control.
