We have an outstanding opportunity, here in Kentucky, to elect more and better Democrats to represent the Bluegrass State. Right here in the 5th Congressional District, Jim Holbert is one of those Progressive Democrats who are fighting the good fight in rural Southeastern Kentucky.
I haven't written a diary in a few days, mainly because I've been busy planning a fundraiser for our Progressive Democrat running for Congress in Kentucky's 5th District, Jim Holbert.
(CROSS POSTED FROM THE PROGRESSIVE ELECTORATE)
Jim Holbert is an Emergency Medical Service helicopter pilot based out of London, KY. He graduated from the University of Tennessee as a certified high school science teacher. After graduation he joined the military and served over 20 years as an officer in the Army and Coast Guard. He won the May 18 three-way Democratic Primary on a Progressive platform of ending the wars, bringing back jobs, and securing our energy future.
Ever since Kentucky's May primaries, the focus has been on Kentucky's US Senate race between GOP nominee Rand Paul and the Democratic Nominee Jack Conway. But not many people have focused on Kentucky's unfolding US House races, which are growing more competitive by the day. One of those races is in Kentucky's 5th Congressional District, where Democrat Jim Holbert is becoming more and more well known among voters in the 5th District.
As many of you know, Kentucky has been in the spotlight ever since Tea Party darling Rand Paul won his Republican primary for US Senate. Jack Conway, the Democratic Nominee, is getting very little press coverage here in Kentucky. The Congressional candidates are getting no press coverage. We need your help to get our message out to the voters in Southeastern Kentucky.
Jim Holbert is a Progressive Democrat running against deeply entrenched King of Pork, Congressman Hal Rogers. He's running a strong and viable campaign to defeat Hal Rogers and bring better representation for Southeast Kentucky and America to Washington.
I've pledged to write a new diary entry every day until we raise $5,000 to elect Jim Holbert to the United States House of Representatives. We're working hard to bring about true progress for our region. You can see where Jim stands on the issues facing our region and our country here.
It has been reported that a poll was done by Mason Dixon on June 1, which shows the race for 5th Congressional District to be closer than anyone had any right to expect.
Jim Holbert is our nominee for Congress in Kentucky's 5th Congressional District, and I've pledged to post a diary every day until we raise $5,000 for his campaign.
I've pledged to write one new diary a day until we reach our goal. Jim Holbert, the Democratic Nominee for Congress in Kentucky's 5th District, needs your help to raise $5,000 by the end of the month.
You might expect Progressives to get a cold reception in rural Southeastern Kentucky. But the opposite is true. Wherever I go, whoever I talk to, our message is being well received.
I'll make a new diary entry every day if I have to! Jim Holbert is a Progressive Democrat running in Kentucky's 5th District, and he needs your help.
