Intentionally provocative, I think the title reveals one of our greatest strengths. As certain as we may be about the correctness of this or that policy, Progressives always understand that we have erred before and are sure to make mistakes in the future as well.
There is great freedom in not being a slave to a dysfunctional philosophy.
As humans work to better understand our world, we also seek to grasp the implications of our political positions. In both cases true progress often happens after we have gone a bit too far in one direction or another, recognized that fact, and then adjusted our course.
One might even say that opportunities for improvement are limited when orthodoxy denies us a chance to see our misjudgments.
