The year is 2009. Through unexpected circumstances, a teenage boy is sent back in time to 1984. Worried that he will be stranded there, he contacts the scientist who, twenty-five years later, will build the time machine that sends him back.
"I'm from the future," the kid tells the scientist. "I came in a time machine you invented, and now I need your help to get me back to the year 2009."
But this scientist in 1984 doesn't believe the kid, doesn't even know who the kid is, and he thinks it is simply one of the neighborhood jokesters who are always trying to trick him. He asks the kid, sarcastically:
"So tell me, Future Boy, who's governor of California in 2009?"
