We're a little less than a year away from the 2008 Iowa Caucus. With the latest poll in hand and the field of candidates coming into focus, we can start to size things up. (I took a stab at an earlybird analysis in November right after Vilsack announced.)
Zogby's latest poll (Jan. 15-16, 596 likely Democratic caucus-goers, MOE +/- 4.1%) gives us the following numbers:
Edwards 27%
Obama 17%
Vilsack 16%
Clinton 16%
Biden 3%
Kerry 3%
Kucinich 1%
Richardson 1%
Clark *
Dodd *
Gravel *
Not sure 13%
We've got a front-runner outside the margin of error, a pack of three, and some also-rans.
Tier 1: Edwards
Tier 2: Obama, Vilsack, Clinton
Tier 3: Biden, Kerry, Kucinich, Richardson, Clark, Dodd, Gravel
