Earlier in the week, I wrote a diary about how Oprah's tour in the early states was much more than glitz and glamour -- it was about serious grassroots mobilization.
In Iowa alone, nearly 30,000 people braved snow and freezing rain to attend events with Obama and Oprah, and a great many of them were completely new to the political process. We have brought so many of these people into our organization, and we are currently reaching out to them, educating them about the caucus, and training them to become active participants in this movement for change.
On the heels of this tremendous organizational success, last night, we did something that almost seems unthinkable -- we organized simultaneous house parties in nearly 1,000 locations, covering over 1,700 precincts across Iowa, and over 10,000 folks showed up.
Yes, nearly 1,000 house parties across Iowa. It's no wonder that the Iowa Independent just placed the Obama campaign atop their Democratic Power Rankings.
