This week I have found a newfound appreciation for my 65 year old Dad. He is such a great man, and simply the best Dad I could ever hope to have.
Why am I reminiscing about my Dad here on Kos, home of mostly political rants? Well, a week ago today my Dad had a stroke. Since then, he's had some maor complications, and we will be getting the family together to say good bye to him this weekend. He is now in a state he never wanted to be in. His right side is paralyzed, can't respond or speak to us, and his respiratory system is shutting down.
So, on Thanksgiving, I wanted to start a diary that I hope you will recommend. Consider this my version of an open thread for all of us to add to and celebrate the family we are thankful for - both with us and no longer with us. More below the fold...
