This diary is short and sweet:
The ties between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin and the other Russian oligarchs — some of which go back for years — are not an attempt by Putin to takeover the United States government.
They are about forming a business deal. A deal that allows for the exploitation of untapped oil reserves in the Arctic. Look at whom Trump has placed in key roles:
Sec. of State Rex Tillerson, the former CEO of Exxon Mobil, to guarantee that extraction will happen;
Sec. of Treasury Steve Mnuchin, because the operation is going to need bankers;
Investor Wilbur Ross, at Commerce, to assist Mnuchin;
Nikki Haley as Ambassador to the UN, as she will be easily controlled by the others;
Head of EPA Scott Pruitt, to debunk any attempt to let concerns about global warming get in the way;
And then the two that were not actually able to make the cut:
Gen. Mike Flynn, who as National Security Advisor would run the diversion of stoking terrorist fears; and
Andy Pudzer for Labor Secretary, another billionaire businessman that could be counted on to keep the workforce in check.

Trump hasn’t been assembling a group to run our government, but a group to profit off of it. Just like a select few in Russia have under Putin.
