I think it very important during this last week to look at the 'other', non-election headlines. There is nothing good out there for Bush.
Here are few headlines from MSNBC:

Not good news for Bush. It will remind people that the SCOTUS is up for grabs. I think people in the middle don't want Bush to make those nominations.
Bad news in Iraq

Add the missing explosives to the 50 Iraqi troops killed and you get continuing bad news.
Also, the stock market isn't too hot right now. I don't see any economic news.
So, Kerry's message of failed Bush policies in in sync with the headlines of the day. I can't see how that doesn't put Bush on defense.
I think that makes for a really grim week for Bush. Not sure how his camp can make any inroads at all for at least two or three days.
If it stays bad news, how does that play with the 'undecideds'? It has to help Kerry.
