Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the Daily Kos community and wanted to introduce myself.
In the middle of the Wisconsin fight for labor rights I saw there was need to have a stream of information about how to donate food to the hero's taking over the Capitol and protesting daily. You might have seen me on twitter @thefoodcaptain. Its been great tweeting about food donations and feeling a little bit involved in a huge fight.
I firmly believe in food solidarity. Food unites people- from sharing cookies to buying your friend a beer. It's a fundamental human connection. And, our movements for economic justice should have a food component. It's also fun- and its great to have fun while working for change.
I hope to update this diary when there is a need to have food solidarity. From buying pizza to folks in Madison to sending pizza's to a picket line in the Poccono's, I'll let you know what is going on, and if you can help out- either donating food or spreading the work- your help is appreciated.
In a few days, I'll write up a longer post on what I've learned with this project, and share feed.
And, if you are inclined today:
Order a pizza or two from either: Glass Nickel 608 245 0880
or the famous Ians Pizza: 608.257.9248
