Westboro Baptist Church has applied for a protest permit with the Orlando Police Department.
The protest permit request is from Saturday June 18th 2016 at 10:15am to Sunday June 19th 2016 at 1:30am at 130 North Magnolia Ave.
We are asking that the community form a counter protest to block out the WBC at this location.
That’s from the Center’s website and the address seems wacky to me; it’s near the downtown post office & in the downtown church district but there it is.
I have not been able to reach anyone at the Center since Terry DeCarlo made the above statement. We are going to meetup at the Center and go from there. If you can join in, please do! And if you can, I hope to see you there!

NB: reposting from earlier comments:
I was over by Pulse earlier today. We are all still mostly numb but our community has really pulled together and the worldwide response has been moving.
From the Center’s website:
The Center has been working with the families of victims all day at the Family Assistance Center, at the Camping World Center. We will be here every day until Sunday, working with these families and providing support. Thank you to the Hope and Help Center of Central Florida, Inc. for helping us sustain this effort.
The families are overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who has been making donations and the solidarity being shown.
Thank you for being with us in heart and spirit as we work through this crisis together. We are #OrlandoStrong #OrlandoUnited
The Hope and Help Center
The Hope and Help Center is the only HIV/AIDS service organization that proudly provides comprehensive and compassionate support in Central Florida because only the Hope and Help Center offers medical, behavioral and pharmaceutical treatment along with educationally driven prevention that saves lives, refutes the stigma and offers hope to all those affected by HIV/AIDS.
Finally, the Pulse Tragedy Community Fund is offering free grief counseling to all affected
Crisis Counseling will take place at The First Unitarian Church of Orlando located at 1901 E. Robinson Street between 10-7.

I have never seen such an outpouring of love and compassion as this in the wake of the horror. The Center asked people to stop bringing perishables because they can’t distribute them fast enough. The blood banks have been asking people to come back next week. JetBlue is going to fly family members of the victims here (several from Puerto Rico). There are 500 counselors available. The Center has moved overflow assistance to the Citrus Bowl.
Thank you to all the communities standing in solidarity, and to all those marching in parades tomorrow and next weekend.
This is such a horrible time but friends and community help us all to be strong. I can’t help but imagine had with happened say at Parliament House in 1985 or so. We’ve come a long way.
