Our interest in organic produces has grown over the recent decades. Of course, as it is in all subjects there are varying opinions about organic produces and farming. However, in general, the main reasons organic food are recommend is that the organic food is simply better for you and so is organic farming for the environment.
It is claimed that organic food have higher nutrient density. Consuming organic food will also reduce the ingestion/absorption of harmful pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, synthetic growth or breeding hormones, antibiotics or GMOs. Also organic farming is less harmful to soil, bees or the environment in general.
So, the reason we want or prefer organic is simply to avoid chemicals that maybe harmful to our health and organic farming is good for the environment. Yes! Those are good reason to go organic food wise!
BUT, how about organic humans? How about finding other ways to stop ingesting harmful chemicals that exists all around us, in our daily life?
When I get my annual blood tests, my calcium counts had always shown on the higher side. I have had concerns about my calcium levels could be low, since, I am lactose intolerant and I don’t consume as much dairy products. So, I wondered why would I constantly have higher calcium levels year after year along with high bone density. Also, my skin is still very elastic and do not have much wrinkles or dry skin for my age nor I get sick easily. Why? Why? Why? I asked to myself many times.
Well, some said I was blessed with good genes. I wanted to believe that but wasn’t really sure about that. It took me a while to figure it out. I finally figured it out with the help of some independent studies of the recent years, (links on the bottom). It was the sun. My exposure to the sun is much greater than most average people, due to my outdoors activities. There are times I am directly exposed to the sun day after day either in a desert or mountains without any sun protection. However, I have no sun related issues and I am a very healthy person, again, IMO, it is due to sun.
Often my friends would offer me their sun screens during the outdoor events. I would reject using sun blocks for the sake of not to ingest chemicals. Years past, my skin and health are better than the ones who used sun blocks consistently. Of course, what I am observing for one person, that is me, is not an official study but with the new studies coming out and the correlation between the existing information that is telling me SUN is the cure for many ailments. We should be inviting more of the sun versus trying to block it.
The information out there does not support the use of sun screens but the opposite. Since the sun screens has been used the melanoma and skin cancer rates increased exponentially. With it of course the sales of sun screens….or should we say with the use of sunscreens melanoma numbers increased exponentially. Any reasonable person would correlate that if the sun screens were helping those skin cancer rates would go down not up.
My body is no different than any other person’s. I would also get sunburn after a long winter and a prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, without proper protection. Proper protection for me is loose white cotton long sleeve shirt or just a t-shirt. However, I still expose myself to sun a little at a time. Once I am tan, then the sun’s intensity is not an issue. I no longer get sunburned nor sun affects me anymore. The secret is getting the tan slowly, then the sun is your best friend and your continuing lifeline.
I do realize, I am one of a very few people going against the current to tell you my opinions that all those sun blocks or suntan lotions are bad for you. All the chemicals in all those sun blocks are absorbed by your body. If absorbing chemicals indirectly via food could be bad for you then ingesting chemicals directly by putting them on your skin should also be bad for you and likely cause of many cancers and environmental health ailing.
When I shared my opinions with friends, many of them agreed what I said makes sense, but they would still continue to use those chemicals. I wondered why would people continue the same behavior in spite of evidence telling them otherwise. Then I realized, if you are programmed believing in something that is good or bad for you, or it is cultural, we accept them blindly,…. like a religion without even questioning them. Your religion is determined based on where you are born and you will be swearing rest of your life that religion to be true and the only way. Or, even if we were to question we will still find a way to justify to continue believing in what we were told/programmed to believe in. This is where the sun block culture is, like a religion, it is engraved in our brains and will take many melanoma cases, government questioning why are those melanoma/cancer rates still growing exponentially in spite of extensive sun screens and a very long time to change it.
Believing in sun protection has been engraved in our culture. So, we accept it without questioning or reasoning as if there is no other way about it. It is now like a cult belief that we have to use sun blocs. Of course, sun blocks are mega billion dollar business in the world. That kind of business, as religion, will not go away as easily or without a fight. The people making money out of those chemicals will still be putting out studies or videos in social or main stream media. One after another will be telling us why we should be still consuming those chemicals and why it is good for us to keep ingesting them... and many people will actually be believing what they say are the truth.
IMO, most of the environment related disorders or most of the cancers are caused by those chemicals that we ingest. Not only sun blocks but there are many other forms of chemicals in our daily lives and different ways that we are being exposed to chemicals, ingesting/absorbing them.
I SAY GO ORGANIC, BECOME AN ORGANIC HUMAN. Stop ingesting all those chemicals.
If we all think with a logic and find the reasons why the life exist on this Earth....we will also find the reasons not to ingest those chemicals. If you think and accept the fact that if it WAS NOT for water and sun, there would be no life. So, if evolution of our lives dependent on sun and water, modifying those two elements or how we interact with those two elements will also change our lives.
Since the life has evolved with sun, by now we all are also evolved to maximize the benefits of sun. Sun is good for us. Sun is the element keeps us healthy. Sun is the element gives our lives. IMO, the more we modify this most important element that is equal to water, the more we will have to face the consequences of dealing with cancers and other environmental ailments.
I do realize, our genes are evolved to the environment they were exposed. We now have a very mobile societies and people move out of the environment they evolved and adapted. When you take a person from an area where their genes evolved, and put them to an area the sun conditions/exposure intensities are different will likely to affect them. However, those people subject to higher sun exposure can still protect themselves with clothing and other natural means, such as obtaining tan with little exposures at a time. When you are tan, sun will no longer affect you.
Once you are tan your body’s ability to produce Vitamin D and protein P53 increases. Those are very important elements for our health. Based on the recent studies P53 is a cancer fighting protein, stops cancer from growing even at a DNA level…. However, once we start blocking certain UV lights getting to our skin, we no longer produce P53 and lose the health benefits comes with it. (Links for studies are below.)
I hope that we realize the benefits of SUN and the negatives of ingesting cancer causing chemicals. AND, we all decide to go in the way of being organic humans.
