First up, here’s a chuckle to clear the palate
Back to the subject at hand, Charen’s NYTimes article, published this morning, is titled “I’m Glad I Got Booed"
She could have said “I am glad for the publicity and the chance to shout out my newbook” but that would have been a bit blatant.
The responses (provided below) to Ms. Charen’s womansplaining her views of Trump’s alleged sexual misadventures outloud at CPAC, add even more light to the darkness that has become the 2018 GOP “that came for Mona Charen."
I’ve been a conservative my entire life. I fell hard for William F. Buckley as a teenager and my first job was as editorial assistant at Buckley’s National Review, followed by stints writing speeches for first lady Nancy Reagan and then working for the Gipper himself. Looking toward the 1988 race, Vice President George H.W. Bush wasn’t conservative enough for me. I went to work as a speechwriter for Representative Jack Kemp in 1986.
So you’d think that the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, would be a natural fit. It once was. But on Saturday, after speaking to this year’s gathering, I had to be escorted from the premises by several guards who seemed genuinely concerned for my safety.

We built and organized this party — but now we’re made to feel like interlopers.

My panel was about the #MeToo movement, which was a natural for me since my new book coming out in June, “Sex Matters,” grapples with the movement and other aspects of our fraught sexual ecosystem.

Oh, a book to sell. Again, this could explain Cheran’s CPAC TruthSpeak. Too cynical?
If the book is full of catchy phrases like “fraught sexual ecosystem” it will race to the NYTimes Best Seller list in rocket speed.
Her is Cheran’ CPAC moment.
We are hopeful that thIs moment of clarity and Speaking Truth to Power might be helpful, change some minds, and swing some votes.
Not so much sadly. You see, the NEVERTRUMPERS, as Charen is labeled, are as hated as liberals in the hearts and minds of the GOP, whose hate and vitriol is more concentrated than the urine of a nearly dehydrated elephant.
Check out the responses to a RedState article written by a woman. She calls Republican hypocrisy as well. Are the RedState readers red-meat frothing?
Susan Wright writes:
"CPAC Bomber Continues Her Assault On Trumpism With Sunday Morning Op-Ed”
It’s an important conversation to have, not just among liberal feminist movie stars, but conservative women, as well.
The kicker, however, is that Charen was not content to simply blather on blithely about the topic. She put Republicans and the conservative movement on blast!
Why speak about feminism, sexual abuse or harassment, and the #MeToo movement, or anyone on the left who have been unmasked, if you’re still unwilling to call out those on the right who are just as guilty?
That’s called hypocrisy, ya’ll, and Charen isn’t standing for it.

Oddly, there were only three bland comments to Wright’s article today. Probably because the above article didn’t properly lambaste NeverTrumper Cheran.
However, yesterday the comments reflect the typical mindset of the RedState readers. On the bright side, a good number responded in support of Charen in this RedStare article. You can click and read if your Doctor approves.

These are the first responders to the Wright’s original article preceding and referenced in todays article.
Briefly, the comments say that
Charen is a snowflake
NeverTrumper
traitor
incapable of forgiveness for the sins of the past
because...redemption.
There is some glimmer of distaste for Trumps behavior, even though the justification is “rediculous"
We all miss typos, right?
Where did spell check go here? I can’t find it.
BTW, the responses over at Breitbart, where the wild poisonous fern grows, were
reminiscent of post Weiner Republic discourse.
May I say that, repugnant as it is to our being, a sojourn to the other side to learn how they respond to important news is helpful in our efforts to better frame a response
We are fighting an INFORMATION WAR. Can we admit that the other side is better at framing BS phraseology to issues at hand.
Can we improve our ability to craft a message and stay on message in response to the BS? Instead of infighting and needing to be more right then others, can we become a progressive CHORUS?
Just for the next few months so we can take back Congress.
Then we can return to being unherded cats.
Adam Schiff and Ted Lieu are pretty darn good at crafting commentary, imo
