Welcome to the New Day Cafe. We post our meager openthread every morning at 7:30 Portland Standard Time and everyone is invited.
BYO. Pretty much anything goes that our Rules of the Road are Ok with is OK here with the exception of snake pics.
A year ago the Covid nightmare was already affecting me. It had already reached Seattle and my Brother’s visit was canceled. It spread anyway but it wasn’t my fault. It was already too late.
Alan Parsons fans probably give him too much credit for this one but it’s hard to tell. The Abbey Road studio had the first huge transistorized mixer and he knew how to use it. Now everybody expects a wall of sound and not the blurry version that Spector used to hide the flaws.
Here he showed Roger Waters how to use it.
This is Alan again.
He was invited back for Wish You Were Here but he was ready to produce his own material. They never even attempted to play any of this stuff live. This is the remaster of the vinyl rather than the later remix.
Alan Parsons cut his records a little deeper and I have heard the thunderclap trip a circuit breaker. I don’t dare try in my apartment but if I had just one more amp and another decent pair of speakers for the back channel . . . .
Time for pie breakfast. What’s on your mind this morning? We were all new here once so don’t be bashful.
