There have been many diaries here lamenting the plight of liberal Texans such as myself. Between Governor Goodhair, Dancing Delay, and Bush 43, we tend to get the short end of the stick when it comes to politicians nowadays.
Why don't more of us stand up locally? We do. It's just that, well, this is a predominantly conservative state, and our voices are quieter than the OMFGCOMMIENAZIS!!! wing of the Republican party.
We tend to find solace in the fact that somewhere else in this great country of ours are people that actually care about the plight of the poor, the tired, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free, even in Texas. Sure, we put up with a lot of Texas-bashing from outsiders, especially on here, but for the most part we are strengthened by the activists and Democrat/progressive/liberal politicians elsewhere.
Enter Sen. Lieberman.
