John Edwards appeared at a town hall meeting in Santa Fe, New Mexico today.
Here's the first couple of paragraphs from the ABQ Journal story (via AP).
SANTA FE -- At an outdoor town hall meeting in battleground New Mexico on Monday, Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards continued to sharpen his criticism of President Bush.
Edwards noted that Bush was giving a health care speech the same day. "I hear it's a short speech," Edwards quipped as the audience roared. "The best I can tell, his health care plan is pray you don't get sick."
Edwards noted that in Vice Presdident Dick Cheney's convention speech in New York the Republican said "with a straight face" that Republicans had made health care "more affordable and more accessible for the American people." "What American people? Where? I have no idea what they're talking about," Edwards said, throwing up his hands and laughing.
