Let's remember the 168 people who died in the Oklahoma City Murrah Building, April 19, 1995. The world stopped that day. It was especially difficult for us Okies. We thought we lived a fairly protected "heartland" existence - until the City was ripped apart by a van load of fertilizer and diesel fuel.

Another day I was supposed to be in Bartlesville, a smaller town north of Tulsa. When the news reports started coming out, my wife couldn't remember which day it was that I was supposed to be in OKC. All she knew was that I was not home. I had been in OKC the day before. All I had was a pager, but Bartlesville was out of pager range. When I left Bartlesville, and headed back towards home, my pager finally started having a nervous break down. I pulled over and called home to reassure my tearful wife that, no, I was in OKC yesterday.
