Greece is being held up as a example of democracy run amok, though nobody will say that. WE see how weak countries do not truly have democracy as they do not actually rule their countries. Maybe for weak countries the entire idea of a national government is a farce. Nobody punished the USA for voting for W. Bush in 2004, even tho most of the world wanted to. One way to fix the debt problem would be to re-instate ALL the debt Germany incurred, including reparations, in WWI and WWII. ALL Germany's debt must be paid for the entire 20th century. When Germany was split it could be said that the state that ran up the debt did not exist, so the debt could be put on hold. Now they are unified there is no reason Germany should not be forced to pay every cent of unpaid reparations to France and debt to the world from WWII. The share of the money owed to Greece would help them pay their debt. We no longer need Germany as a bulwark against the Soviets. NO reason they, a wealthy country, could not pay for their sins, much worse than Greece's, now they can afford it.
