The Washington Post doesn't get it.
Yesterday the paper went all atwitter over a poll showing an almost even split between those who faulted Bush's response in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and those who gave it at least a passing grade.
The Post opined it to be welcome news to a White House staff that had been wetting itself over the potential backlash to Bush and his administration's criminally slow, often nonexistent, response to the largest natural and humanitarian disaster in US history. Beltway pundits have their heads in a dark and dangerous place. Once again Washington's chattering classes are seriously out of touch with the country - and reality.
