It seems to me that Bush is easily annoyed or flustered by criticism. Kerry should study the tapes and find out what seemed to annoy Bush the most. Just from my own arm-chair psycho-analysis, it seems like W wouldn't appreciate direct comparisons to his father.
I suggest that Big John say something like the following:
"You know, in 1991, when your father asked for my support, I voted against the authorization for the Gulf War. Looking back on that, I may have made a mistake, because your father handled the war and it's aftermath extremely well; a model of coalition building, planning, war fighting, and diplomacy. So when you came to me and asked for authorization to take on Saddam Hussein again, I gave it to you, and I trusted that you'd follow in your father's footsteps and follow through on the promises you made to us. But you failed. You failed at diplomacy, you failed at coalition building, failed at the post war planning. And we just can't afford another 4 years of failure."
So, what kind of things would you say just to get under Jr's skin?
