Disenfranchisement of Baghdad residents.
Here in the District of Columbia, where over 500,000 Americans live, we have taxation without representation. We pay the same taxes as the rest of you (and pay higher amounts than most of you and serve on federal juries at higher rates and fight and die in our nation's wars at higher rates) but Congress gets the last word on all our laws and our budget, including the parts that we raise through local taxes. Congress, the body of right wing loonies from all over the country except here. We have no vote in the House and not even a delegate to the Senate.
How do defenders of the status quo justify this? The United States Constitution.
