Clearly, Americans are clamoring for executive experience. After all, the hardest fought battles on the Republican side let to bruising defeats for all those Senators, and meant that a three way battle between two former governors and the former mayor of New York ended with a clear victory by the candidate with the most executive experience.
Same thing on the Democratic side, as Democrats easily nominated Bill Richardson, the only candidate with executive experience (including his ongoing positions as Commander in Chief of the New Mexico National Guard!). The rest were Senators or Congressmen, and the Dems were having none of their inexperience.
After all, the example of George W. Bush, a man who won election twice as governor of Texas, thus demonstrating his wealth of executive experience, has shown America that no one but governors are capable of running America, thanks to their proximity to foreign countries (Texas and New Mexico both border Mexico, a country with which we have a precarious security situation; we've been to war with Mexico, you know), and thanks to their experience with balancing budgets and creating prosperity.
Onward, governors, onward to victory in November, and another victory for EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE, the only important criterion in a president.
