Just suppose
It is a usual, cold January day in Moscow and Russian software espionage agents succeede in their work to break in to the U.S. political parties servers through the Internet and they suck out gigabytes of data: email, documents, presentations, spreadsheet, databases and various forms of message files. What to do with this treasure trove? What strategies will best serve the goals of Mr. Putin? Should he direct his minions to release information that might have a negative impact on Hillary Clinton’s campaign? As we say in the rural south; has a cat got a climbing gear? Anything that hinders Mrs. Clinton’s apparent smooth sailing into the U.S. Presidency would be fine, especially if identifying information is left in the data dump to indicate that this data dump is from Russia with love.
Then the gods decided to play a little joke on the humans who think they know it all.
First Donald Trump wins GOP primary after primary and it looks like he will give Mrs. C a real scare. About this time, around the Republican Convention, the Russian oligarchy/government decide to really help the Trump campaign. What if D. Turmp wins the election?
Just think, Trump Inc. has many close ties to Russian moneyed interests, based on a long history if interactions where Trump Inc. has had some very profitable interactions with the oligarchs what influence and advantages could be obtained by having D. Trump POTUS? Perhaps other individuals with complex interactions with Russian oligarchs could be placed into significant positions in the Trump Cabinet. If the goal is to stop the U.S.A. from interfering in the schemes and plans that will return Russia into its position as an equal or perhaps a superior to the U.S., having the U.S. executive branch make decisions favoring and furthering Russian goals would allow Russia to win the virtual war before the U.S. even realized that there was a war.
Just say’n.
