It's our job to help fund these things and get them on the air if she stands a chance in FL-10. It could be deemed a lost cause effort, but it also is a chance for the Netroots once again to show their mettle in endorsing progressive candidates.

I thought Kossack's far and wide might want to check out (on there own) what they've been missing with Samm Simpson during this election cycle... Take a look at this radio interview that Samm conducted with Tampa Bay Media back in September (it's on Google videos) and judge for yourself if she's worthy of Kossack attention (and funds).
We can compete with Bill Young, he can be defeated - but help is needed to accomplish this.

Florida and Congress, of course, are the hot button subject of the moment... Unfortunately the focus is on FL-16 and not on other candidates that are in need of the netroots support. I could make mention of Phyllis Busansky here but I believe she's good on her own because she's running against a Bush lapdog in FL-09. More on the flipside Read More
Most people said they were angry and disturbed and thought the scandal cast a shadow on the Republican Party, especially if leadership knew for months that Foley had sent questionable e-mails to teenage former congressional pages. But most of the 20 or so independents and Republicans from Foley's former district who talked to the St. Petersburg Times Sunday said they still plan to vote in November and would consider whomever the Republicans nominate to take Foley's place, even though Foley's name will remain on the ballot.

Yet, to those who actually believe Clinton was soft on terrorism or just plain didn't do enough to fight terror -- look at what Orrin Hatch, Trent Lott and others of the GOP were up to stopping President Clinton from having some of the very same issues that Congress now rubber-stamps for President Bush today. That link and the following quote after the flip is from CNN in July of 1996: Read More
Phyllis Busansky said it has been an honor to draw so much attention from Washington. "I am very flattered that the president of the United States is coming out to do a fundraiser for my opponent," said Busansky, Democratic candidate for District 9 of the U.S. House.

Dubya, Dick Cheney and others have all found their way to FL-09 to help fundraise for Gus Bilirakis... And what does it mean for Democrats? It means they're scared of losing both this seat and of Phyllis herself. More below the fold. Read More
Is it just me or does Tom Gallagher look just like Gary Busey? I mean, take a look:
Tom Gallagher - Republican candidate for Florida governor.
Gary Busey -- Actor
Don't see the similarities in the above images? Go through Google Image search for Tom Gallagher and then do the same for Gary Busey. Fortunately for Florida citizens, Gallagher doesn't stand a lick of a chance in the primaries vs. Crist. Unfortunately for Floridians, Crist is leading both Democratic candidates at current in the polls.
I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theory wacko but something is really starting to bug the shit out of me with everything at current...
I wasn't going to write a blog post about this concern up until I put on Bay News 9 (local 24 hour cable news station here in the Tampa Bay area) and their nightly news anchor presented the latest piece that broke the camels back for me.

But I think everyone here on Kos ought to know the mainstream media is trying to pick our battles for us. Maybe not so mainstream media in this case - as it's a foreign source... But I found it surprising (to say the least) that someone from the media is telling us who our "next target" is... Read More
We are going to have an upcoming interview with congressional candidate (FL-10) Samm Simpson. We need as many of you as possible to submit questions for the interview. E-mail them to me (at quinnelk@hotmail.com)
You're also able to leave questions for Simpson in the comments on the Florida Politics post in question. This is a great opportunity for both in-state and out-of-state Kossacks to pose a question to a candidate that is well-off-the-radar in a competative district.
behold the instance the latest resignation from the campaign -- speechwriter Jennifer Hickey -- and the contents of her letter of resignation:
Value of "George Harris Legacy Loan" to Senate campaign: $10 million Value of "refurbishments" to Capitol Hill residence: $100,000 Value of Handing in my Resignation Letter: Priceless

Andy Ostroy conducts a full interview with Simpson to highlight different items about her story, her stances on issues and her non-support from the Florida Democratic Party and the DCCC. More below the fold. Read More
