As I said yesterday I am not in any way a fan of Rasmussen's method of polling as I think it's a flawed model that slants heavily rightward, in addition Scott Rasmussen is a known conservative with a libertarian streak (to be fair he doesn't hide that). That said, he's not a stupid man and puts out some interesting editorials from time to time. I have no problem with a Rasmussen if you will because we all know what the weaknesses are with their polling and can adjust our expectations accordingly as well as being able to look at a track record that gives us lots of data to go by. Conversely something like a Gravis Marketing is a complete joke who's trying to drive a narrative, period, in addition to selling out to the highest bidder. Anyone who would take a firm like that even remotely seriously you'd have to wonder about? Their founder is a known tax cheat as well as a shill for the right. As much as I like Nate Silver my one knock on him this go around is his inclusion of firms like Gravis in his analysis. Maybe he knows something we don't and if true I'd certainly like to know what that something is.
