While I don't generally ask for recommendations, I will this time, because I want this to be seen by as many people as possible. So help a brother out, OK?
One of the great debates that has raged at DKos during my time here is the "electable Democrats" vs. "liberals" debate. I've been a pragmatist on this question, believing that "electable" Democrats, even if they're moderate, are preferable to progressive Democrats destined to lose.
Those discussions, however, have been about certain states. You can't elect Paul Wellstone in Nebraska, so we have to settle for Ben Nelson. You can't elect Barbara Boxer in Florida, but Bill Nelson works just fine. Practicality is important.
All that goes out the window, however, in true-blue states like Maryland, and when you're talking about the bluest region of the bluest county of the blue state of Maryland, you shoot for the moon. If you can't elect your dream candidate in District 20 in Maryland, then the whole liberal idea is an exercise in futility.
Did somebody same "dream candidate"? Read on.
