I am so close to this story and to Wenham Lake that I'm swimming in them. Not literally of course, as that would be illegal, but I do get flummoxed trying to tell the tale of this storied lake without launching into an epic telling of the adventure.Today's Boston Globe story sums it up pretty well starting with the happy ending but does touch on the past abuse and recovery around Wenham Lake. This gorgeous lake currently sustains 80,000 Mass residents and was once so pure that it was literally fit for a queen. Sadly, it fell victim to greed and neglect becoming contaminated with waste laden with such delicacies as arsenic, mercury, and chromium.
I've been meaning to type out the amazing epic adventure back story, so now is as good a time as any. Don't expect a Grisholm-esque legal battle or a regulatory victory. This is much better! What you'll find here is a riveting story, amazing history, star power, unsung heroes, and one kick-ass world-class formula fueled by 100% PEOPLE POWER!
