I once had to explain to a policeman why I had "ignored" a baracide and used the U-turn lane anyway. The truth was that the baracade was NOT in place. He never looked to see if I was telling the truth, he didn't care, because the truth was inconvient and could spell trouble for him. Thus, I had to be wrong. Of such encounters and my studies is built my honest apprecation and simultaneous loathing of bureaucracies.
