I have cried the happiest tears of my life tonight for the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States of America. President Obama is going to be the most fantastic two words I put together for the next 4-8 years. Without a doubt. But as I type this, my home state of California is voting for discrimination against a minority group.
I know we have all been overwhelmed with our emotions during this campaign. We had an incredibly qualified Democratic line-up for the primaries. The battle between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama was something for the history books. I was a John Edwards supporter at the beginning, but Barack Obama won me over very quickly.
I couldn't help noticing that Bob Scheifer gave John McCain the last word on all but one question and the closing statement to John McCain. Did anyone else notice this obvious preference for McCain by the moderator?
Did anyone see on Larry King a picture of the McCain and Palin families as part of a People Magazine interview? I just watched it from my DVR. It must have been from Friday.
I know that you and I will vote for Barack Obama because the alternative would be horrendous. But the netroots have to make a stand regarding his (and the Dems in general) position on telecom immunity. The only way I know of to get his attention is by withholding our contributions for a month.
