Every three weeks, I visit an acupuncturist. I don’t do this for it’s alleged heath benefits but because it helps keep my marriage happy. My wife, you see, is a very, very bright and successful woman. I love being with her. But, like her dad before her, she has a deep fascination with “alternate healing”. So, by going every few weeks and subjecting myself to being a human pincushion, I please her belief that I am doing something proactive about my health.
My acupuncturist is a lovely woman and I enjoy our chats. I do get to relax while there, so I guess I am receiving some benefit.
The acupuncturist informed me that one of her customers said she could not vote for Hillary. When asked why not, the woman said “because God made man first. The job of President should be held by a man”. My acupuncturist was appalled.
Then my acupuncturist went on to say that her daughter had said the same exact thing! This should not have surprised me since I knew that her daughter attended Liberty “University”.
So there ya have it. This is just some of the kind of thinking that we are going to be facing in this election of 2016. And, in case you think this is just two cases of extremist lunacy, I would like to inform you that this is the exact thing that is being pronounced in evangelical churches all across this land. There are literally tens of thousands, perhaps millions of people out there that believe as they do.
We are still deciding public policy in the year 2016 upon a book of ancient fables, and not even good interpretations of those fables either.
