I don't mean to inflame, but it has occurred to me that the problem of George Bush has mounted to levels far exceeding the level of offenses suitable for impeachment.
I realize we don't have a majority in either house, and I know little about what the requirements are to move an idea like this along.
Still, aren't we obliged as citizens to file a complaint about such things as:
Failing to defend the United States on Sept. 11
Abu Grhaib
Starting a war without a good reason
Deceiving the people about Niger yellowcake
The deaths of 100,000+ innocent people
The Plame outing
and so on ...
I have no illusion of this tactic's potential for success. But if these things are true, and they are impeachable offenses, then we must go forward with it, for the sake of the country's honor and reputation.
It is all the more important in light of the president's insistence on never having made any kind of mistake.
